Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill met with NFL investigators on Wednesday ahead of an investigation of child abuse involving him, his son and his fiancée, Crystal Espinal.
Hill’s three-year-old son broke his arm, which the child claimed to be an injury from Hill. Last spring, KCTV broadcast, a Kansas City television station, released an audio clip they reported.
According to the KCTV recording, Hill’s fiancée, Espinal was recording Hill when he said, “Why did he say Daddy did it? Why did he say Daddy did it?”
“A 3-year-old is not going to lie about what happened to his arm,” Espinal said on the recording, according to KCTV and ESPN. “He is terrified of you.”

Hill responded, “You need to be terrified of me, too, b—,” according to ESPN.
According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Hill is meeting with a review of potential multiple violations from the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. When and how long the NFL determines Hill’s punishment should be, Hill would need to travel to New York to meet with Roger Goodell, the league’s commissioner.
For now, Hill has been banned from training with the Chiefs’ training facility and the team itself.

Back in 2015, Hill was charged with domestic battery on Espinal while he was still at Oklahoma State. According to Bleacher Report, he was charged with choking and punching her while she was pregnant with their now 3-year-old son. The case was eliminated off his record after he completed his probation.
Hill had a breakout season last year before being banned from the team. He had a career-high 1,479 receiving yards with 12 touchdowns, and was Patrick Mahomes‘ favorite target during the 2018 season. The Chiefs training camp is set to start on July 23 ahead of the upcoming 2019 season. These next defining days could shape the Chiefs’ season for how long Hill might be banned for.
Mahomes won the MVP last year, throwing for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns.
