Trevor Lawrence Undergoes Surgery On Non-Throwing Shoulder

On Tuesday, former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence underwent surgery on his left shoulder in California. It should be noted that the surgery was on his non-throwing shoulder.

Lawrence, 21, took to social media following the procedure, discussed the surgery in an Instagram story, “Surgery went great. Excited to rehab.”

It is all but a foregone conclusion that Lawrence will be selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. According to what a source told ESPN’s Dan Graziano, Lawrence can start throwing again in four-to-six weeks and is expected to be ready to go in time for training camp.

The total recovery time is expected to be four-to-five months, which would put him back on the field in the middle of July.

Dr. Neal Elattrache performed the procedure, and its purpose was to repair damage to the labrum in his left shoulder.

Last Friday, on his pro day in Clemson, South Carolina, Lawrence worked out for 17 NFL teams, including the Jaguars. The workout was moved up to Friday because Jaguars’ new head coach Urban Meyer wanted to see Lawrence throw before his surgery so the team could evaluate him in person.

All indications point towards Meyer and the Jags calling Lawrence’s name with the first pick of the draft.
