Tom Brady continues to solidify his place as the greatest quarterback of all time. Brady is breaking records and closing in on others. He recently passed Hall of Famer John Elway to become the second-most sacked quarterback in NFL history.
It is probably not a record Brady would want, but his longevity and long career have made it possible. Brady is playing in his 21st season as a quarterback, and on Sunday, against the Atlanta Falcons, he passed Elway as he received his 519th sack. That number allowed him to move past Elway as Brady is now the second-most sacked quarterback. Brady is behind another Hall of Famer, Brett Favre for first.
That record is something that Brady may not want, but he is close to passing Drew Brees for all-time in career passing yards. Brees suffered an injury during week 10 and was unable to play until Sunday night. On Sunday, he was able to return to the field. Brees’s absence allowed the Buccaneers quarterback to rack up those yards to close in on the record. The 43-year-old quarterback is just less than 2,000 yards behind the Saint’s quarterback. On the bright side, Brady was able to pass Brees for all-time most career passing touchdowns with 573.
