Andrew Wiggins could make jaws drop at next year’s NBA dunk contest, if he is interested in participating.

Timberwolves’ Andrew Wiggins Nearly Sinks 720-Degree Dunk

The Minnesota Timberwolves guard attempted a crazy, 720-degree dunk on Wednesday, which his brother filmed and posted to Twitter on Wednesday. That’s two full spins in the air. Wiggins, 21, seems to almost make the dunk, but the ball bounces off the inside of the rim instead.

The Wolves have the reigning two-time NBA Slam Dunk champion on their roster in Zach LaVine.

However, Wiggins can surely become stiff competition. The young Canadian was selected as the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers out of the University of Kansas, and has proven to be one of the best young guards in the league. He was immediately traded to the Timberwolves.

With athletic and aerodynamic skills like those, Wiggins will undoubtedly continue to be a tough guard to play defense on this upcoming season.

Wiggins declined to participate in the league’s dunk contest in his hometown of Toronto this past year, and has stated he’s still upset about losing to Chris Walker in the 2013 McDonald’s All-American Game dunk contest. It seems like a shame Wiggins missed out on this year’s dunk contest, because if anyone can potentially compete with the likes of LaVine and Aaron Gordon, it’s him. He recorded a vertical leap of 44 inches at the NBA Combine before his rookie season a couple years ago.
