The Top 10 CFP Rankings Go Unchanged For The First Time In History 11/14/2018

NCAA college football’s top 10 CFP rankings went unchanged following a week with no major upsets.

Top 10 CFP rankings unchanged this week

Each school ranked in the top 10 won last week for the first time in the history of the College Football Playoff ranking system.

“These are complete teams,” said committee chair Rob Mullens when asked about the gap between Alabama and Clemson. “We spent a lot of time talking about it. They are both top-10 offenses, top-10 defenses, but at this point, everyone has Alabama one, Clemson two.”

Those that gained: Undefeated UCF climbed one spot to No. 11, as did Syracuse to No. 13. Penn State climbed six spots to No. 14 after a 22-10 win over Wisconsin.

Those that dropped following losses or otherwise uneven performances last week include: #11 Kentucky slipped to No. 17 after falling to unranked Tennessee. #13 Florida slipped two spots to No. 15 after a close win against South Carolina. Boston College is No. 20, three spots down from last week, following a 27-7 home loss to Clemson. #16 Mississippi State dropped down to No. 21 after a 24-0 loss to Alabama on Saturday.

30 SPORTS FIGURES WHO DIED IN 2018 – TRIBUTE SLIDESHOW

With three weekends left until the final selections are made on Dec. 2, there are still a few controversial matchups left on the season that could turn the current rankings upside down.

#1 Alabama faces Auburn next week and then #5 Georgia December 1st. The chances are slim that Auburn beats Alabama at home, but even if that were to happen, Alabama could redeem itself by beating Georgia to win the SEC on championship weekend.

#10 Ohio State could win the Big Ten if they beat #4 Michigan on the 24th of November, but Michigan looks like a good bet to sail into the playoff at 12-1.

Notre Dame could fall out of contention if they lose to anyone, especially to USC (5-5).

Week 10 – College Football Playoff Rankings 2018
1. Alabama (10-0)
2. Clemson (10-0)
3. Notre Dame (10-0)
4. Michigan (9-1)
5. Georgia (9-1)
6. Oklahoma (9-1)
7. LSU (8-2)
8. Washington State (9-1)
9. West Virginia (8-1)
10. Ohio State (9-1)
