Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell scored 18 points in Cincinnati Sunday, successfully completing all six of his field goal attempts to pull the Steelers back from a 14-point deficit and eventually defeat the Bengals 24-20.
Boswell became the first NFL kicker to make six field goals all season, and was just two shy of the single-game record, held by Rob Bironas.
After the game, Boswell arrived to the Steelers’ facility Wednesday to learn that he’d been selected for a random drug test. The kicker tweeted a photo of the notice on his locker room stall early Wednesday and captioned it “random drug test,” with random in quotation marks. That, and the accompanying emojis, make very clear how much Boswell suspected the test probably wasn’t random:

He also tweeted the following joke about his predicament:
Boswell isn’t the first kicker or punter to undergo a random drug test immediately after a big game. Earlier this year, Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee was tested following a 67-yard punt.
McAfee has been a frequent target in particular. He was also subject to a test after sending a funny tweet on April 20th, a day known for being one where potheads typically get very high on marijuana:
According to the NFL’s website, there has never been a single instance of a kicker being suspended for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
