Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, 27, made a request directed at the NBA and the Seattle City Council on Tuesday night.
Wilson, a player who holds plenty of weight in Seattle after bringing one Lombardi Trophy and one SuperBowl trophy to the city, has requested to bring the Seattle SuperSonics back to the city. He expressed his wish via Twitter on Tuesday.
He also suggested initiating a petition with him:

Just this week, the Seattle City Council voted against a measure that would have given a developer control of an alley, which would allow him to build a new arena there. Even though the chances seemed low regardless, the odd 5-4 decision put on by the council further diminished hopes this would happen.
Nevertheless, Wilson remains persistent in his fight to garner support for a SuperSonics return. If he does manage to gain some momentum behind this, he will certainly soon become even more legendary in Seattle.
Now, the wait to see what the quarterback’s next move will be begins.
