Ron Rivera Is Cancer Free

Ron Rivera scored one of his biggest wins as he is now cancer free.

The Washington Football Team coach was confirmed to be cancer-free by his wife and daughter last Thursday. Rivera then tweeted out a picture of himself to confirm that he is indeed on the mend. In his tweet, he wrote, “Thank you, everyone, for your prayers, letters, texts & notes of encouragement & support.” Additionally, he wrote a final sentence saying, “It truly made a difference in my treatment & recovery!”

The head coach was first diagnosed with cancer in August before the NFL season began. Luckily, his cancer was found during the early stages, so it was very treatable and curable. Rivera coached every game in the season as he underwent treatment. He coached the Washington Football Team to the playoffs for the first time since 2015.

For his efforts, he was named the NFC Coach of the Year by the 101 committee.
