Ravens’ Lamar Jackson Tests Positive For COVID-19, Will Likely Miss Next 2 Games

Lamar Jackson has tested positive for COVID-19 and will most likely miss out on the next two games because of being in self-quarantine.

The Baltimore Ravens quarterback was one of at least a dozen team members who have tested positive. On Thursday, there were four players and a staff member who tested positive.

Earlier this week, the team had issued disciplinary action to a strengthening and conditioning coach for failing to report symptoms and for not consistently wearing a mask.

Baltimore was originally scheduled to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thanksgiving, but because of the recent outbreak with the Ravens, it was postponed to Sunday. The NFL postponed the game to Sunday because it would give the league more time to test more players in order to contain the spread. As a result, Jackson would be placed on the reserve/COVID list.

With the reigning MVP Jackson out, Robert Griffin III will start in place of him on Sunday, should the game be played. Griffin is a former pro bowl and the 2012 NFL Offensive Rookie of The Year. Griffin has only completed one out of two passes, nine yards and one interception in just three appearances this season.

Other players who will miss the Pittsburgh game are running backs, Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins, who are important players to the Ravens offense. The Ravens have placed 10 players on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Jackson is expected to be added to the list on Friday.
