Rams Bring Back Kicker Brett Maher For Rest Of The Season

The Los Angeles Rams are bringing back kicker Brett Maher for their final game against the San Francisco 49ers and the playoffs.

“Getting into the playoffs definitely changes a little bit of the dialogue in regards to knowing what we have coming down the pipe,” head coach Sean McVay said of the rehiring. “And so we wanted to get somebody in here that had some experience.”

Maher was cut seven games into the 2023 season, where he was replaced with Lucas Havrisik. Maher made 17 of 23 field goals and 12 of 13 PATs. In contrast, Havrisik made 15 of 20 field goal attempts and three of his 22 PATs. Havrisik missed two PATs during Sunday’s game against the Giants and at least one kick in three consecutive games.

The Rams, who are currently 9-7, are the sixth seed in the NFC and are guaranteed a playoff spot.  They face the 49ers, who are the top seed.
