Carmelo Anthony, 2008
On April 14, 2008, former NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI).
Anthony was pulled over after police found him weaving between traffic lines, and he failed to turn off his high beams. Police conducted a field sobriety test, which he failed.
Following Anthony’s arrest, the Denver Nuggets suspended him for two games.
Anthony ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of driving while ability impaired (DWAI). He was sentenced to one year of probation, 24 hours of community service, and over $1,000 in fines.
