Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy is tied with Andrew Luck for his 2016-2017 earnings, though McIlory made much more from endorsements ($34 million). Nike signed McIlroy to a 10-year extension for apparel (Nike left the golf equipment business in 2016). After winning the FedEx Cup in 2016, McIlory won $11.5 million plus a $10 million bonus.
