Philadelphia Flyers Unveil New Mascot ‘Gritty,’ Fans Go Wild On Twitter

On Monday night, the Philadelphia Flyers unveiled their new mascot, Gritty. He’s named after the term used to describe athletes who aren’t flashy or very talented. His mascot backstory is that he’s a subterranean entity that emerged from the bowels of the Wells Fargo Center, where the Flyers play, and he feasts on hot dogs.
