The New England Patriots have agreed to sign defensive tackle Terrance Knighton to a one-year $4.5 million deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Dianna Russini,
Knighton, entering his eighth NFL season out of Temple, will provide New England with depth up front after the Patriots lost Akiem Hicks and Sealver Siliga in free agency to the Bears and Seahawks. They also traded away defensive end Chandler Jones to the Cardinals, so Knighton or “Pot Roast” as he also known will see some quality time on the field in Foxborough.
The 6’3, 355 pound Knighton had 29 tackles and 1.5 sacks last season with Washington. He has also played in Denver for two seasons, appearing in Super Bowl XLVII against Seattle, and he was drafted by Jacksonville in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft (72 overall).
The Patriots have yet to announce the signing, but Knighton posted the following photo onto his twitter account:

In his career, Knighton has amassed 148 total tackles, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one interception. He will be counted upon to provide veteran leadership for a young defensive line for the Pats.
