Frank Alexander may be on injured reserve with a torn Achilles, but now health isn’t the only think keeping him sidelined. The Carolina Panthers‘ defensive end was handed a suspension of at least a year for violating the NFL‘s substance abuse policy for a third time.
The defensive end was previously suspended for four games and 10 games. After the second suspension, he said he had quit his marijuana habit, but that does not seem to be the case. His teammates Wes Welker and Stephen Hill were also handed suspensions of four games and one game respectively; Welker violated the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy and Hill was banned for substance abuse.
Free agent safety LaRon Landry was also given an indefinite ban. He just finished serving a 10-game suspension for performance-enhancing substances.
