Owner Eugene Melnyk had been the CEO of the Senators since the split with Tom Anselmi in February 2018.
Little has a history of senior executive roles, with his latest being executive vice president and chief marketing and culture officer for Shaw Communications, a Canadian telecommunications company. He has also held senior roles at Royal Bank, Bell Canada and Bombardier, a Canadian transportation company.

His role with Ottawa will be business strategy with a focus on marketing and community relations.
