For the second time in as many seasons, Denver Nuggets C Nikola Jokic will be the NBA MVP, reports say.

If true, which early votes seem to indicate, Jokic will edge out Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid and Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo for the hardware.

An official announcement is expected Wednesday.

There’s sure to be more arguments than usual over the decision, as a strong case could be made for any of the three.

Jokic averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists while shooting 58.3% from the field for the 48-win Nuggets.

For comparison’s sake, the 76ers were 51-31, played a season with the Ben Simmons saga, and Embiid averaged a league-high 30.6 points, 11.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.1 steals while shooting 49.9% from the field.

The Bucks also recorded 51 wins while Antetokounmpo averaged 29.9 points, 11.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals while shooting 55.3% from the field.
