New York Yankees Awkwardly Recreate Famous Scene From ‘The Sandlot’

The 2015 baseball season is right around the corner with the first game being the Chicago Cubs against the St. Louis Cardinals on April 5. Now, in the Yankees preparation for their home opener against the Toronto Blue Jays, they decided to forgo practice to recreate one of the most classic baseball moments in cinema history.

As a child of the ’90s, The Sandlot’s Great Bambino scene holds a special place in my heart. Now, as a Yankees fan, they should have left it alone. It is great that they are gelling and having fun at spring training — which gets mighty tedious towards the end — but leave this precious movie alone.
