The wait is almost over for Knicks fans, as the team is set to open the season on October 24 in San Antonio versus the Spurs. Tickets are available now on StubHub.
This rookie-laden Knicks team will be looking to start the season much stronger than how they ended the preseason: they ended up dropping three games in a row after winning their first. They will be led by former Duke Blue Devil R.J. Barrett, who has had high expectations placed on him in his first season after being drafted third overall by the Knicks last year.
Complimenting Barrett will be another former first-round pick, Julius Randle, a power forward who comes to the Knicks by way of the Los Angeles Lakers. Those two will be supported by the dynamic guard duo of Frank Ntilikina and Dennis Smith Jr.

“Of course, I’m thankful and happy about it to get this done,” Ntilikina said. “On the court, I’m still focusing on the first part of the season and first game. I’m excited about this year and this opportunity.”
When asked about the prospect of directing the Knicks for years to come, Ntilikina stated, “It’s great here in New York to be part of this situation. It’s motivation and a big excitement. It makes me willing to give even more on the court on a daily basis.”
This young Knicks team will get the chance to prove themselves early on. Many fans are eager to see if their offense will be as explosive as predicted and if they can hold down high-powered offenses on the defensive end.
