New York City FC 2019 TICKETS [DATES & TICKET INFO]

New York City FC played its inaugural season in 2015. While the New York Red Bulls might be the first New York team in name, they play over in Harrison, New Jersey. 2015 was a lackluster performance for NYC FC but that was to be expected for an expansion team. However, fans still came out. World class players found their way to the team, its legacy developed, and French World Cup-winning team player Patrick Vieira became the head coach. Suddenly, the squad didn’t feel so out of place in Yankee Stadium.

New York FC is owned by two of the most successful franchises in the world, Manchester City and the New York Yankees. Their experience in sports trickled down eventually. David Villa, a striker who made a name for himself playing on Spain’s 2010 World Cup-winning team, was brought in and has led the team in goals during each of its three seasons.

Following the 2015 season, Vieria was brought in. Villa scored 23 goals in the season and was named the league’s MVP. New York qualified for the playoffs and reached the conference semi-finals. The following season, New York City had an especially strong showing in the regular season, placing second in the hunt for the Supporters’ Shield. But they were once again eliminated in the conference semi-finals.

With a growing fan-base in the largest city in America, New York City FC is a can’t miss team. And they’re not hard to see either.
