CLEVELAND, OH - MAY 21: LeBron James #23 of the Cleveland Cavaliers reacts in the second quarter against the Boston Celtics during Game Three of the 2017 NBA Eastern Conference Finals at Quicken Loans Arena on May 21, 2017 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Just like in 2017, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors are facing off in the second round of the NBA playoffs this year.
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals will be played in Toronto on Tuesday night. The top-seeded Raptors finished the regular season 59-23, while the No. 4 Cavs went 50-32. Cleveland, who beat Toronto in last year’s semifinals and then lost to the eventual champion Golden State Warriors in the Finals, won the regular-season series 2-1.
The Cavs advanced by defeating the Indiana Pacers 105-101 on Sunday to win the series 4-3, while the Raptors reached Round 2 by beating the Washington Wizards 102-92 in Game 6 on Friday.
Fred VanVleet is expected to play for Toronto in Game 1 after injuring his shoulder earlier this postseason. He played 19 minutes in Game 6 of Round 1 against the Wizards.
