Naomi Osaka Makes Waves At French Open With Her Wild Fashion Choices

Naomi Osaka had spectators on their feet after making a dramatic entrance for her French Open first-round match.

Osaka, the Japanese star, is known for her glamorous outfits at tennis tournaments and didn’t disappoint as she emerged onto Court Suzanne-Lenglen in a black corset with a matching skirt made from her old tennis outfits.

Osaka’s fashion choices are always on point. She later explained how the design resembled the Eiffel Tower. Her fashion evolution has become a major storyline in recent seasons.

Earlier this year at the Australian Open, she wore a dramatic, jellyfish-inspired outfit by Robert Wun that drew plenty of attention. But it was at the 2026 Met Gala where she truly dazzled, wearing a crystal-covered gown featuring 659,000 hand-stitched embellishments. Osaka is an inspiration to many, both on and off the court.

Osaka has always been creative in everything she does. Despite stepping away from tennis for maternity leave and mental health breaks, she has embraced self-expression through fashion during her return to the sport.

She’s said that clothing allows her to communicate confidence and creativity, and that expressing herself through outfits helps relieve the pressure of competition.

Her gold dress is one of the most talked-about looks in tennis right now, cementing her status as a sports fashion icon. Even in a tournament filled with elite players, Osaka managed to capture attention both on and off the court.
