Morgue Worker Who Leaked Personal Information About NHL Star Johnny Gaudreau’s Death Fired After NJ Commission Confirms Decision
A morgue worker has been fired for releasing information regarding Johnny Gaudreau without the family’s consent.
Although the morgue worker originally only told his friends, details quickly spread. Within hours, the brothers’ birthdates, addresses and incident details were on Reddit. Along with that, personal information regarding the state trooper who responded to the accident was also leaked.
The morgue worker admitted to sharing information with his friends, but denied sharing anything online.

He was fired by the Gloucester County Medical Examiner’s Office in 2024. However, his union allowed him to appeal the decision, which kept him employed until a final decision was made.
The final decision was made by a New Jersey commission comprising five judges. They ruled in favor of the worker’s firing 3-2. He will be terminated from his job effective immediately.
“McGlynn has no explanation of why he would send the picture to the text, other than that he was in disbelief and acted out of emotion,” the ruling made by Administrative Law Judge Allison Friedman stated.
Gaudreau played in the NHL from 2014 to 2024. He was drafted by the Calgary Flames with the No. 104 overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.
In the 2022 offseason, he signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets, where he played his final two seasons. Gaudreau made eight NHL All-Star teams in his career.
The driver accused of killing the brothers, Sean Higgins, has pleaded not guilty to vehicular manslaughter. He admitted to police officers that he had “five or six beers” on the night of the accident and failed a Breathalyzer test. He currently awaits trial.
