Massive Brawl At Women’s Basketball Game Leads To Suspensions And Double-Forfeit

The Texas Southern and Southern University basketball game ended in absolute anarchy, as both sides got into a heated shoving match that escalated to an all out brawl, as seen in a video obtained by The Advocate,

What started on a simple offensive charge, quickly divulged into chaos, as the officials had to call the game on a double-forfeit. It got so bad that the fight eventually spilled into the backcourt where fans, coaches and referees attempted to break it up.

In the end, there was a total of 15 suspensions from both teams: and Texas Southern, the number one seed in the SWAC tournament, decided to end their season. On the other hand, Southern University, the two seed, plans to play, but has to compete in the SWAC without seven of their players: the winner of the conference tournament gets an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
