Marshawn Lynch Questions Why the Media Comes Back
Well, it looks like the Marshawn Lynch media saga continues. This time, he started the latest press conference with a long monologue as if he was shocked the reporters were still coming back. Him not talking or saying one word answers has obviously become a story that people want to read about.
“Look, all week I done told y’all whats up. And for some reason, y’all continue to come back and do the same thing y’all did. I don’t know what story y’all trying to get out of me. I don’t know what image y’all trying to portray of me. It don’t matter what y’all think, what y’all say about me, ’cause when I go home at night the same people I look in the face — my family that I love — that all that really matters to me. So y’all can go make up whatever y’all want to make up… I come to y’all event and y’all shove microphones and cameras down my throat, but when I’m home, at my environment, I don’t see y’all. But y’all mad at me. If y’all ain’t mad at me, then what are y’all here for.”
Now, when the media even pressed him on his charity, he told them to come visit him when he is doing charity work in the future. One of the reporters responded, “I’m going to hold you to that.” Directly following this though, he started answering questions by shouting out to various random things. “Shout out to Oakland, California. Shout out to Westbrook. Shout out to my teammates… Shout out to my real Africans out there… Shout out family first.”

On top of this, he constantly reminded the press how much time they had left and even sat in silence: stating he was going to look at them like they were looking at him. But perhaps the best moment of the whole exchange was when a reporter asked him what does he think about the NFL fining him for the Beast Mode hat, which caused him to smile and fix his hat, drawing attention to the Beast Mode logo.
Now, I respect Marshawn for doing what he believes in, but soon he has to realize that not talking to the media is getting more attention than if he would just give a couple statements.
