Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota’s Wonderlic test scores: the FSU QB scored a 27 out of 50 and the former Duck garnered a 33, Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports reported.
The Wonderlic test is given to all potential draftees. It contains 50 questions that needs to be answered in twelve minutes. The only known player to have ever gotten a perfect score is a fifth-round draft pick from 1975, Pat McInally.
But other notable scores of active players are Eli Manning (39), Calvin Johnson (41), Ryan Fitzpatrick (48), Terrell Pryor (7) and Frank Gore (6). Now, the scores do not always dictate success — as anyone could see in the cases of Fitzpatrick and Gore — but teams still use it as a guideline.

So what does that mean for Winston and Mariota? Well, it should not really change the two’s draft stock by a lot: if high score directly correlated with success on the professional level, then Blaine Gabbert (42) and Matt Flynn (38) should be all-stars.
And though Winston’s 27 seems low, he is above average for the QB position and shares some good company: Joe Flacco (27), Peyton Manning (28), Drew Brees (28) and Russell Wilson (28) also occupy that territory.
Tampa Bay should stick with Winston at number one overall because he is the best option for a day one starter: he has the arm, the pocket presence and the tenacity of an NFL QB. On the other hand, there are still way too many question marks with Mariota.
