Magic Johnson Tries To Convince Peyton Manning To Play For Rams

Magic Johnson saw an opportunity to pitch the new Los Angeles Rams to a future Hall of Fame quarterback, who is undecided about whether he will play next season, while on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

When discussing how he was the first fan to buy season tickets for the Rams next season, Johnson says, “I tried to talk somebody out of retirement and come to the Rams,” Johnson begins pointing towards Peyton Manning, “I said, ‘Man, if you play again, come to the Rams.’ I was working on him backstage. I will even chip in some money.”

All Manning could do was helplessly blush and laugh on the couch. “Look, he’s turning a few colors,” said Johnson.

There has been a lot of speculation about whether Manning will hang up the cleats, especially after a Super Bowl 50 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Manning ranks first all time in touchdown passes (536), passing yards (71,940), and is tied for the most regular season wins with Brett Favre (186). Manning had his worst season this year, throwing only 9 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
