Kyrie Irving played his first preseason game as a Boston Celtic on Monday night, and he has already proved how great an asset he could be for the team.

Kyrie Irving Celtics Dunk video

The former Cleveland Cavaliers point guard landed a huge dunk on Nicolas Batum in the first quarter of the Celtics’ 94-82 victory over the Charlotte Hornets at TD Garden:

Batum is listed as 6 foot 8, which is doubly impressive as Irving is five inches shorter than the Hornets’ French guard. Here is a shot of Irving’s first score with the team:

After spending his first six NBA seasons in Cleveland, Irving was traded to Boston for Isaiah Thomas.

The Celtics next visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, and host them on Oct. 9 (Columbus Day). Boston opens the regular season against the Cavs in Cleveland on Oct. 17.
