The Knicks found themselves without Carmelo Anthony, who was out due to a sore knee. The Knicks led the Thunder by 11 in the fourth quarter, and destroyed the Thunder defensively throughout the game.

However, Durant came in to rally the Thunder to victory by scoring a season-high 44 points, 22 of which came in the fourth quarter and subsequent overtime, which he forced with a jumper with 16 seconds left in regulation.

“I’m really not into how many points I score anymore,” Durant said. “I’m just trying to play great basketball and play efficient basketball, and I was pretty cool tonight, but just trying to play good basketball for my team and winning basketball, so I’m really not concerned with the points anymore, how many I score. If I play a good brand of basketball and if I play the right way, that stuff will come, so I just try to look at it that way.”

The Thunder is now 34-13 this season, while the Knicks are 22-25. The Thunder will visit the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, while the Knicks will visit the Toronto Raptors on Thursday.
