Kevin Durant Bashes Former ESPN Writer Chris Palmer

Today, the Oklahoma City Thunder decided to sign Nick Collision to a multiyear extension. According to ESPN, the Thunder gave him a two year $7.5 million contract. Despite being 34 years old and only averaging 3.8 PPG, 3.4 RPG and 1.2 APG, Thunder’s coach Scott Brooks stated, “I understand that it’s not about stats. It’s about intangibles. It’s hard to put a number on it, hard to put a value on it. But when you have a guy like Nick, you know how valuable he is.”

But this explanation did not please some analysts, with former ESPN writer Chris Palmer sending out a tweet destroying Oklahoma City’s move.

Well, Kevin Durant happened to be on Twitter, and he was not too happy about Palmer’s comments. As a result, the always entertaining celebrity tweeter went right for the jugular as he bashed the analyst’s integrity.

Palmer was fired from ESPN for various reasons: although never confirmed, one of the rumors claimed it was partly because he almost guaranteed, through his sources, the return of Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, this would not be the first time Durant has openly criticized people over Twitter: and it is far from the first time these two have sparred over the social media site — back in 2013, Palmer released the 15 smartest NBA players and much to the chagrin of Kevin Durant, he was not on it.

Now, Palmer eventually responded to this latest fight and told the star athlete to get his facts straight.

Who knows where this will lead, but if Durant is fighting with someone over Twitter, uSports will be there to cover it.
