Justify has a relatively favorable post at this Saturday’s Belmont Stakes in Elmont, New York, in his quest to secure a Triple Crown.
The reigning Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes-winning horse is seeking to become the first competitor to win the Triple Crown since American Pharaoh did it in 2015. Justify — led by jockey Mike Smith and trainer Bob Baffert — has been marked as having 4-5 odds to win the Belmont Stakes.
According to CBS Sports, after Justify in the odds rankings come Free Drop Billy (30-1), Bravazo (8-1), Hofburg (9-2) and Restoring Hope (30-1). In sixth place is Gronkowski, (12-1) the horse named after New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and that missed out on the Kentucky Derby because of an illness. Hofburg skipped the Preakness.
Justify won at Churchill Downs in May by 2.5 lengths. American Pharaoh was also trained by Baffert.

Hofburg is a son of star sire Tapit, the thoroughbred racehorse that was the sire of three of the past four Belmont Stakes champions. Vino Rosso, a horse trained by Todd Pletcher — who led Always Dreaming to win the 2017 Kentucky Derby — is also expected to be a major contender at Belmont.
