Real Madrid have confirmed they will exercise their buy-back clause and re-sign Juventus forward Alvaro Morata, with the European champions set to pay €30 million ($34 million) for the Spanish striker.
Morata, 23, who is playing for Spain at the France-hosted Euro 2016 tournament, joined Italian club Juventus in 2014 after four seasons with Real Madrid.
“I hope that my future can be resolved as quickly as possible,” Morata said before Euro 2016, “to know if I’m staying or if I’m going. Wherever they want me most, that’s where I’ll be.”
The young striker, who was previously reported to be a target for both Arsenal and Chelsea, has scored three goals for Spain in Euro 2016 thus far. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly interested in Morata.

Real Madrid released a statement on Tuesday confirming his re-signing.
“Real Madrid C.F have informed Juventus FC of their decision to salvage the federative rights on the player Álvaro Morata, who will join up with the first team for pre-season training under the command of Zinedine Zidane,” the statement read.
Juventus manager Beppe Marotta had recently stated he expected Morata to return to Real.
He scored 27 goals in two years for Juventus, winning two Serie A titles and two Coppa Italias.
Morata also played in consecutive Champions League finals, having appeared as a substitute in Real’s 2014 victory and scoring in Juventus’ 3-1 defeat by Barcelona in 2015. He made his major league debut at 18 and scored 10 goals with Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Italy forward Stephan El Shaarawy has made a permanent move to Roma after playing for the club on loan from Milan last season. Roma announced on Tuesday they have paid Milan €13 million ($14.73 million) and signed the forward on a four-year contract.
