Jeremy Lin Says He’s At “Rock Bottom” During His Time Of Free-Agency, Says NBA Has “Given Up” On Him

Jeremy Lin ended his run with the Toronto Raptors back in June by winning an NBA title, and this week expressed that NBA teams don’t seem interested to sign him for the upcoming season.

He joined the Raptors midway through the season after leaving the Atlanta Hawks. He was a backup to last year’s Rookie of the Year contender Trae Young. Lin says he now has hit “rock bottom.”

“In English, there’s a saying, and it says, ‘Once you’ve hit rock bottom, the only way is up,'” said Lin on GOOD TV, according to ESPN. “Rock bottom just seems to keep getting more and more rock bottom for me. So free agency has been tough, because I feel like in some ways the NBA’s kind of given up on me.”

Lin played headlines back in 2011 with the New York Knicks when he was dominating games by scoring over 25 points in one game, 38 in another and by scoring game-winners. Lin started just four of the 74 total games with the Hawks and Raptors in the 2019-19 season. When he played, he averaged almost 10 points a game. Although he played in the regular season with the Raptors, he failed to make a series of appearances in the playoffs. Even though he won the NBA title, he feels he didn’t earn it.

“After the season I had to get ready for this Asia trip and it was the last thing I wanted to do,” Lin said in an emotional speech, according to USA Today. “Because I knew for six weeks I would have to just put on a smile. I would have to talk about a championship that I don’t feel like I really earned. I would have to talk about a [basketball] future I don’t know if I want to have. And honestly, it’s just embarrassing. It’s tough.”

With him hinting at an end with his time in the NBA, according to Sportando, he is linked with playing in the Russian League with CSKA Moscow.
