Brandon Thomas of the independent Frontier League’s Gateway Grizzlies did something rather impressive on Sunday night.
In the middle of a 17-6 victory over the Joliet Slammers, Thomas hit a grand slam. He later discovered, however, that the ball cracked his own truck’s windshield. Thomas still seemed proud of his big hit, nonetheless, and said it was worth it.
Who knows whether he has auto insurance or not, but one thing remains certain: Thomas handled this like a champ.
The team also posted a video of the grand slam on Facebook:
Thomas, 25, has slugged 11 homers (and 42 RBIs) in his first season with the Grizzlies, though he will surely remember this one the most. He is batting .259 this season.
