Houston fans have something to cheer for this year, after the city was devastated by Hurricane Harvey.
The Astros raced to a 5-1 victory over the Dodgers in Los Angeles in Game 7 on Wednesday night to capture their first-ever World Series title.
Houston jumped to an early lead, scoring five runs in the first two innings. Lance McCullers started for the visitors, although he lasted only 2 1/3 scoreless innings after hitting four batters, the most in a World Series.
Reliever Charlie Morton sealed the win after allowing one run with four strikeouts in four innings.

Dodgers starter Yu Darvish, meanwhile, left the game after 1 2/3 innings, having allowed five runs (four earned).
George Springer led the game with a double, and Alex Bregman then reached on an error to score Springer, and then Bregman himself scored on a Jose Altuve groundout to first. Springer then added a two-run homer in the second.
The Dodgers went 1 for 13 with runners in scoring position. Cody Bellinger struck out three times, surpassing Aaron Judge’s recently established record for most strikeouts in a single postseason.
Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts was criticized for not starting Clayton Kershaw.
Another big moment came after the contest, when Astros shortstop Carlos Correa proposed to his girlfriend on the field. She said yes. The 23-year-old Puerto Rican said he didn’t have a backup plan regarding his proposal if his team lost the game.
“I’ve been thinking about it for months now, but I was waiting for the perfect opportunity, you know,” said Correa. “I knew we had a great team, we could accomplish this, and I wasn’t wrong.”
His fiancee is none other than 2016 Miss Texas USA Daniella Rodriguez. Correa said he asked one of the clubhouse attends for help late in the game.
“One of the clubbies, I talked to him in the ninth inning, and I’m like, ‘I don’t want to jinx anything, but if we get the three outs, please bring me the ring because I am going to get engaged in the ballpark.'”
