Hall Of Fame LB Kevin Greene Wants To Join Steelers Staff

Hall of Fame former Steelers linebacker Kevin Greene took to Twitter Monday to say he’s prepared to help the team.

Green has some coaching experience, luckily. He had a brief stint as a Steelers intern linebackers coach during training camp in 2008. Greene was also a member of Green Bay’s coaching staff when the Packers won Super Bowl XLV in Feb. 2011.

The 54-year-old, who played in the NFL for 15 seasons, stepped away from coaching in Jan. 2014 to spend more time with his family.

The Steelers next face the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday’s divisional round playoff game at Arrowhead Stadium.

Porter has coached Steelers outside linebackers since 2014. He was released Monday on $25,000 bail after being arrested around 9:30 p.m. Sunday night.

Greene was a two-time All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowl selection. He recorded 160 career sacks for No. 3 all-time.
