The New York Giants have signed kicker Randy Bullock. He will join the practice squad while Graham Gano is due to undergo surgery and go on injured reserve.
Gano has been dealing with a knee problem for several weeks and missed two field goals against the New York Jets in a 13-10 overtime loss.
“I have no excuses,” Gano said of his performance. “That’s not who I am. I’m sure some people want me to sit up here and make excuses. I’ve got none. I’ve got to play better. It’s frustrating, I know the team played well. I just didn’t. I’ve got to play better.”
Gano will be placed on injured reserve and will undergo surgery this week.

Gano’s replacement, Bullock, who kicked with the Tennessee Titans last season, hit 85% of his field goal attempts. He was signed over former Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby and San Francisco 49ers Robbie Gould after the Giants held a kicker tryout on Thursday.
In his first three seasons with New York, Gano hit 92% of his field goal attempts. This season, he has only made 64.7% of his attempts. Most of his misses have come recently after his knee problem.
Bullock will likely be put on the active roster once Gano officially lands on IR. He will look to help the 2-6 Giants better their record.
