Ex-Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti Says Lionel Messi’s Return To Barcelona Is Not Good News For Roma

Superstar forward Lionel Messi has returned to Barcelona after weeks of being out due to a knee injury he suffered during a Liga game against Las Palmas on Sept. 26. Former Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti stated that he does not believe Messi’s return will have a negative effect on either of two of his Barcelona teammates, Neymar and Luis Suarez, who have both scored 11 goals in the last 11 games. Ancelotti also added that he believes Messi’s return is “not good news for Roma.”

Messi, a four-time Ballon d’Or winner, made his comeback as a substitute during Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Real Madrid.

Ancelotti claims that Messi’s rapport with the other South Americans on his team was key to Barcelona’s triumph last season. Ancelotti stated: “It’s true that Suarez and Neymar are doing very well, but clearly Barca with Messi are something else. Messi brings goals, quality. … He brings everything.”

“They had an extraordinary finish to last season, finding a special chemistry that allowed Barcelona to win everything,” Ancelotti then added about Barcelona. “I don’t see them suffering with Messi, neither Neymar nor Suarez.”
