Dolphins Score Two Quick Touchdowns To Hold On Against Ravens

Two quick touchdowns in the second quarter is all it took for the Miami Dolphins to stop a five-game losing streak against the Baltimore Ravens yesterday, and it was all thanks to the Miami defense shining throughout the game.

The first touchdown came from a deflected pass by Dolphins safety Reshad Jones which was then caught by tackle Jordan Phillips. On the next play, quarterback Ryan Tannehill hit DeVante Parker for a 38-yard touchdown pass. On the next Ravens possession, defenseive end Derrick Shelby deflected another pass from Ravens quarterback Matt Schaub and ran it to the end zone for a 22-yard interception. With the score at 15-0 at half because of a two-point conversion, the Ravens struck back with a 41-yard pass from Schaub to Javorius Allen to bring it within 5 points. After Ravens field goal kicker Justin Tucker made two field goals in the game, Tucker missed a 55-yard field goal kick late in the fourth quarter that would have given the Ravens the lead.

Even though the Ravens were injury-plagued Baltimore but led Miami in total yards with a tally of 375-219 yards and controlling the ball for nearly 38 minutes, the Dolphins still prevailed to hail a 5-7 record in the AFC East while Baltimore went down to 4-8 in the AFC North. “We’ve got to be more productive,” Dolphins interim head coach Dan Campbell said. “But we did what we had to do to win the game. Our defense played lights out.”
