Detroit Tigers Tickets On Sale [DATES & TICKET INFO]

The Detroit Tigers are one of the few baseball teams located in the heart of the city in which they’re named. Since 2000, they’ve played their home games in downtown Detroit at Comerica Park. The stadium is one of the most interesting, featuring nine larger than life tiger statues that have eyes that light up after a Tigers home run or victory and that also growl. Outside the park, there are 33 tigers heads with lighted baseballs in their mouths.

The playing field is the result of intricate design. It features a strip of dirt leading from the mound to home plate, being one of only two in the MLB that features it. The park has incredibly pitcher-friendly dimensions which played a role in the Tigers dominance in the early 2010s in which they produced four different future Cy Young Award winners. Despite that, those teams were no slouches at the plate. Prince Fielder routinely sent balls careening into the stands and Miguel Cabrera hit for the first triple crown in 45 years while calling Comerica Park home.

However, in 2017, the Tigers dealt away Justin Verlander and Cabrera’s skills diminished with age. Prior to the start of the 2018 season, Ron Gardenhire agreed to a three-year agreement to lead the team. Gardenhire brings a plethora of coaching experience as well as success. His one Coach of the Year award on top of five second-place finishes are exactly what a team should want in a coach.

This offseason, the Tigers signed Josh Harrison and Tyson Ross. The two can provide the team with a veteran’s presence while still being able to contribute on relatively cheap deals. After getting off to a 5-3 start, the Tigers find themselves just a half game out of first place. Seeing that the team has had success and is still an underdog, they’re bound to be one of the most exciting teams in the league.

On April 7, the Tigers will wrap up a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals. For only $15, you can see an important game with divisional implications. Then, on April 9, the Cleveland Indians will come to Comerica for three games. The two will battle it out for first place in the AL Central throughout these games. You can catch the first matchup for only $9. On April 12, the Tigers head to Minneapolis to take on the Twins in a three-game series. The matchups will feature two loveable teams squaring off in hopes that they’ll come out victors. Tickets for games in that series range from $11 to $124.
