DeShaun Jackson With AC Joint Sprain, Expected To Miss One To Two Weeks

Houston we have a problem, or rather Houston gave us a problem. That’s probably what Washington Redskins were thinking as star wide receiver DeSean Jackson sprained the AC joint in his right shoulder after the first round of 1 on 1 drills against the Houston Texans.

Jackson is expected to miss one or two weeks of play due after landing on his shoulder, but if last season is any indicator of how he’ll do, remember that that he did the same to his left shoulder in week two and didn’t’ miss any games. And that’s a good and bad for fans and not fans alike. For fans, expect some serious receiving yards, unless of course, the injury is such a hindrance that he may as well not play. And for not fans, if the injury affects his game, every team that plays the redskins will be able to zone out receivers easier and pressure the better options.

“Obviously, it’s unfortunate I have to deal with this right now, but hopefully I can get better as soon as possible and I’ll be in the training room doing everything I need to do to better my shoulder. I dealt with the same shoulder injury last year. But it’s not as bad as last year’s. … I didn’t miss no time last year, but being in training camp, I have time to let it heal and I’ll take the steps I need to to better myself so I can play.”

But this is merely the tip of the iceberg as Jackson merely adds to the growing list of Redskin players.

Cornerbacks DeAngelo Hall and Chris Culliver are listed as day-to-days due to groin injuries, and safety Jeron Johnson as well as linebacker Trevardo Williams both have strained hamstrings. And don’t forget Safety Akeem Davis, who recently had surgery on his fractured left thumb.

So maybe instead of practicing on the field, Washington should focus on practicing in the hospital.
