The Denver Broncos are probably the team I am most excited to watch in 2020. Despite going 7-9 last season, the Broncos have made some moves that might not guarantee them much success in 2020, but will allow them to have success for the next half decade or so. Second-year quarterback Drew Lock has an immense amount of confidence and given his play in limited time in 2019, it might be warranted. Lock has some great weapons around him with guys like Cortland Sutton, Noah Fant and Philip Lindsay, who were all on the roster last season. The Broncos also added Melvin Gordon in free agency and drafted Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Broncos’ defense also looks to be much improved, with the return of Bradley Chubb after tearing his ACL. Chubb will play once again alongside Von Miller and Justin Simmons. Denver also acquired Jurell Casey and AJ Bouye this offseason to help them keep up with the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs in their own division. This team should make for great television once the season starts.

The Broncos will have their work cut out for them, but their schedule provides opportunities for the Broncos to possibly make it to the playoffs. It will be crucial for the Broncos to get off to a strong start, especially since five of their final nine games after their bye week are on the road (in the seven games prior to their bye, four of them are at home). Prior to their bye, the Broncos have some really winnable games against the Steelers, Jets, Patriots and Dolphins. The Broncos also play the Titans, Buccaneers and Chiefs all at home prior to their bye, I think there is a definite possibility that they win two of those games. If the Broncos could be 5-2 or better entering their bye week, they will most certainly have a chance at one of the three wild card spots in the AFC. Post-bye, the Broncos will have some tough games. They play the Saints and Bills, both of which are at home, they go on the road to Atlanta and Kansas City. They also play the Chargers and Raiders twice, games that the Broncos should be the favorite in, and will most likely win three of them. Is there potential for the Broncos to fail in 2020, yes but there is also great potential for the Broncos to thrive and make it back to the postseason.
If you haven’t figured it out already, I am buying a lot of stock on this Broncos team and will definitely try to attend at least one Broncos game this coming if fans are allowed. These are the five games I think you will want to try to attend:
The Broncos don’t play a whole lot of defensive juggernauts but they do play two really good defensive teams in the Steelers and the Bills, both of whom will test this young Broncos offense and really help us see if Lock is worth all the hype he is receiving. The Buccaneers, Chiefs and Saints each have transcendent offenses led by Tom Brady, Partick Mahomes and Drew Brees respectively, and if the Broncos want to have success this season, their defense will need to be probably a top ten defensive unit in the entire NFL, and playing against these three offenses will surely challenge them.
