Tenessee Titans running back DeMarco Murray recently showed he has no hard feelings toward his old team, the Dallas Cowboys, when he contacted rookie RB Ezekiel Elliott shortly after he was drafted by the Cowboys in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, and offered him some advice: Learn from Jason Witten.
Murray reportedly told ESPN he wanted Elliott to know that Witten is a veteran tight end who does everything the correct way, and that Elliott should follow his lead if he wants to learn how to become a pro player.
“Everything and everywhere he goes, be there by his side watching and listening. He will show you the way on and off the field,” Murray said he told Elliott.
Witten, who has played for the Cowboys since 2003, was visibly touched by this.

“I appreciate DeMarco’s kind words not because he said it but the relationship we have,” Witten said. “We had a short few years together and we maximized it. A lot of great shared sacrifices together. Ultimately he was able to have an offensive MVP year and I was just a small part of it. But for him to think I could influence it, I think that’s why you invest the way you do. That’s what teammates do.”
