Edmonton Oilers rookie center Connor McDavid has a lot to smile about since starting his first season in the NHL. Last night during an away game against the Dallas Stars, he scored his first goal on a deflected shot during the second period against Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen.
It took three games for McDavid to score his first goal, the same amount of time other great players like Wayne Gretzky and Sidney Crosby did. At a young age of 18 years old, he was selected with the first overall pick by the Oilers during the 2015 NHL Entry draft and is promised to be a young phenom who is already being compared to Gretzky with his goal-scoring and puck-handling capabilities.
The goal may have been a highlight for McDavid for the night, but the Oilers ended up losing in a 4-2 loss.
