Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice met with the Dallas Police Department on Tuesday regarding a six-car crash in Dallas on Saturday night.

Two luxury cars were seen in a crash colliding with a median that eventually involved four other vehicles. Authorities believe Rice could have been one of the two suspects instigating the crash who fled from the scene.

“Today I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday’s accident,” Rice wrote on Instagram. “I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident.”

There were no major injuries, but Dallas police say that the two drivers of a Lamborghini and Corvette, who swerved and hit the barriers, causing a chain-reaction crash on the highway that sent two people to the hospital, were responsible for the accident.

“The occupants of the Lamborghini and the Corvette all ran from the scene without stopping to determine if anyone needed medical help or providing their information,” police told the Dallas Morning News.

One of the cars that caused the incident was reportedly either leased or registered with Rice’s name, but it is still unconfirmed whether he was at the scene of the crime.

Rice grew up in Dallas and was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Rice was second among rookies and second on the team in receiving yards with 938, while also scoring seven touchdowns. Rice caught six passes for 39 yards in the Chiefs’ 25-22 Super Bowl win over the San Fransisco 49ers.

Both the NFL and Kansas City Chiefs have yet to comment on Rice’s alleged involvement in the accident.
