Last Sunday, in preparation for Super Bowl LV, the Kansas City Chiefs turned to their team barber for haircuts. However, while the Chiefs had 20 people, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes and other players and staff members on line for haircuts, the barber found out he tested positive for COVID-19.
Backup center Daniel Kilgore was in the barber’s chair when the Chiefs pulled the barber after he received his positive results, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Fortunately, Kilgore and the barber both had masks on while the barber was cutting his hair.
Since they were in close contact, Kilgore had the barber finish his haircut despite the news. Initially, a source told ESPN that Kilgore was in the middle of his haircut when the barber received his results and was then pulled.
Following the incident, the Kansas City Chiefs placed Kilgore, and wide receiver Demarcus Robinson on their reserved/COVID-19 list, after they were said to have been in close contact with the infected team barber.

Both Robinson and Kilgore have not practiced since being placed on the COVID-19 list this past week. But, there is still room for them to return to play by Sunday for Super Bowl LV if they test negative for five consecutive days before the big event.
Super Bowl LV will be played on Sunday, February 7 as the Chiefs will be facing off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida at 6:30 p.m. EST.
