Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has shut down rumors that he is leaving the club for Real Madrid next season, insisting he is “very happy” at Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year-old Belgian has been linked with a potential move to the Spanish club, with their current goalie Keylor Navas struggling lately.

Here is what Courtois said when asked about the reports:

“I don’t see myself at Real Madrid. I see myself at Chelsea, the club that six years ago saw me playing in Belgium and gave me the opportunity to sign for them.

They also allowed me to be three years at Atletico, which helped me to be the keeper that I am now. I feel that I’m key to the team, I’m very happy at Chelsea, and I don’t see myself anywhere else.”

Courtois’ current deal with Chelsea expires in June 2019.

Spanish newspaper Marca recently reported Real Madrid may go after him if they fail to sign Manchester United goalie David De Gea next summer.

“For the time being, we have not spoken about a contract extension,” added Courtois, who was at Atletico on loan from 2011 to 2014. “We are focusing on the league.

“We will see at the end of the season if they offer me something. For the time being, there has not been an offer.
