Carmelo Anthony Gets Knocked To The Ground After Dunk Attempt

Carmelo Anthony experienced a somewhat funny mishap during the New York Knicks’ Tuesday night home game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Carmelo Anthony Gets Knocked To The Ground After Dunk Attempt

Late in the first quarter, the Knicks forward was fouled going up for a layup. After the foul, Anthony grabbed the ball and went up for an emphatic slam after the referee had already blown the whistle signaling an out-of-bounds ball.

Unfortunately, he met the rim, fell over and slid to the free throw-line, landing on his back. Anthony quickly stood up and laughed it off, as some other players and officials appeared to.

Anthony also answered a heckler a few rows back during the game, after the man began complaining about the Knicks’ mediocre performance. Anthony reportedly told the heckler to ask Madison Square Garden Chairman James Dolan for his money back if he was really that unhappy.

“He kept calling my name, calling my name, saying, ‘You guys suck, you guys suck,’ ” Anthony said after the Knicks’ 19-point loss to Portland. “At that point, I was trying to gather myself, and I turned around. All I did was point at Dolan and told him, ‘Look, the owner’s right there. Ask for your money back.’ He’s calling me and telling me he’s never coming to another game and we suck. Just don’t want to hear that. I pointed to the owner and told him, ‘You deal with that with him. Maybe you can get your money back.’ ”
