The University of North Carolina Tar Heels Football won their first game in the Atlantic Coast Conference against Syracuse Orange, 27-10, on October 31. Belichick has been off to a rough start in his new gig, so fans of the program were relieved to see the coach finally notching some wins.
So far, the Tar Heels are 3-5, and in the ACC, they are 1-3.
This win means a lot to the Tar Heels and keeps their hopes of winning alive.
During the press conference, head coach Bill Belichick said he felt great after the win.

“Feels good. Feels great,” Belichick said. “It was good to get this one. So we look forward to all the rest of the games in the ACC.”
The Tar Heels had a combined amount of 209 rushing yards and 216 passing yards, combining for a total of 425 yards. The Tar Heels also had 62 total plays while Syracuse had 50 total plays.
“Things didn’t go great at the beginning of the game, but then they [Syracuse] just kept on battling and we had a really good second half defensively,” Belichick said.
In the first quarter, Syracuse was winning 7-3, then in the second quarter, Syracuse was still winning 6-10.
It wasn’t until the third quarter that the Tar Heels scored 14 points to give them the lead.
By the fourth quarter, the Tar Heels scored seven more points, securing a 27-10 win.
The Tar Heels’ next game is scheduled for November 8 against the Stanford Cardinals.
