Giancarlo Stanton Smashes Home Run Out Of Dodgers Stadium
Giancarlo Stanton, who inked a back-loaded 13-year $325 million contract in the offseason, displayed yesterday why the Miami Marlins paid him the big bucks.
In the top of the first inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Stanton hits a shot that simply looked like it was going into space. As soon as it left the bat, everybody knew it was gone – it was just a matter of how far.
And the answer, around 478 feet and directly out of Dodgers Stadium. Now, this would be only the third longest home run of the season, just behind Nelson Cruz (483) and Josh Donaldson’s (481) bombs, according to Statcast.

Still, he is one of only five players to ever hit a home run out of Dodgers Stadium, and is the first to do it in nearly 16 years.
This was Giancarlo’s eighth homer of the season. Unfortunately, it did not do much, as L.A. trounced the Marlins 11-1.
